I’m down in Irvine for the week for work. Because there’s not much to do around here, and to see if “fun” cars are all they’re cracked up to be, I rented a Fiat 124 Spider off Turo for Wed & Thurs nights.
Any recommendations for fun drives near Irvine? Is it the PCH or the mountains, or is there anything in between?

Ortega Highway is the obvious answer

Grew up in Orange County, not far from Irvine.
Head northeast on Jamboree for about 10 miles (depending where in Irvine) until you reach Irvine Regional Park. Head east on Santiago Canyon Road and it’s a good hour drive through Limestone Canyon Presevere and loops you to El Toro Road in Lake Forrest. Then hop on the 5 north and you’re back in Irvine.
Here’s a video of the drive:

My brother in law turo-ed a 124 in the LA area earlier this summer. If yours is an all red, automatic you probably had the same car!

Had just enough time to squeeze in this loop on my way out, before lunch and airport. Unfortunately they’re resurfacing it right now so I got stuck behind a bunch of cars trailing a huge truck halfway through, but still pretty fun. Thanks!
